What Is Soldr? - Compoden

What Is Soldr?

Soldr turns a plain-English idea into a working piece of hardware. Describe what you want to build, and it selects real, in-stock components that work together, assigns pins for the specific board, produces the wiring and a schematic, and writes and builds the firmware — for 674 board targets, from Arduino Uno and ESP32 through Seeed XIAO, Wio Terminal, M5Stack, and Raspberry Pi Pico.

It's not a chatbot that writes sketches on request. Before naming a single component, it reasons about voltage, current draw, I²C addresses, pin capability, connectors, and budget — and it prices everything from live stock rather than from memory.

What comes out of a Soldr session

  • A complete bill of materials. One sentence in, a full parts list out, with every component checked against every other for voltage, logic level, current budget, bus conflicts, and pin count.
  • The full build, not just a list. Pin-by-pin wiring for the specific board named, an interactive schematic, and working firmware.
  • What the device shows, if it has a screen. Icons, QR codes and animations for an OLED, LED matrix or WS2812 ring, exported as a header file; a drag-and-drop layout for an OLED with fields bound to live sensor readings; a preview of the web page the board will serve.
  • Parts that actually arrive. Every component named is something its sibling company, Compoden, physically stocks in India. A whole build can be bought as a single kit instead of eleven separate line items.

Soldr and Compoden are two names for one path

Soldr designs; Compoden supplies. They're separate brands operated by the same team, and together they cover the full path most hardware-design tools stop short of: describe the idea, get the checked design, buy the real parts, receive them, and flash the code — rather than handing you a schematic and leaving you to source everything yourself.

What it costs

Twenty-five credits are granted free on sign-in. Questions, troubleshooting, and diagnosis are always free — you only spend credits generating code, billed by the size of what's generated, with no subscription.
