Compatibility

This module works with any Raspberry Pi board that has a CSI connector, including the Pi 2, 3, 4, Zero, and Zero W. The supplied FFC cable is specifically trimmed for the Zero’s compact layout, but standard Pi models can use it with the correct orientation. It draws power directly from the 3.3V rail and is recognized by Raspberry Pi OS without extra drivers.

Wiring Notes

Connect the ribbon cable to the CSI port with the blue tab facing the Ethernet/USB ports on full-size Pi boards, or towards the board edge on the Zero. Ensure the cable is fully inserted and the connector latch is pressed down. No external power or pull-ups are needed.

The stock module has an infrared filter and is not sensitive to IR light. For night vision, you can carefully remove the filter (a non-reversible modification) and add an IR illuminator.
