What You Can Build With This

  • Industrial machine vision system with OpenCV recognition
  • Astrophotography camera with long-exposure M12 lens
  • High-resolution security camera with motion detection
  • Digital microscope for PCB inspection and biology

Compatibility

The HQ Camera works with any Raspberry Pi board that includes a 15-pin CSI connector: Pi 3, Pi 4, Pi 5, Pi Zero 2 W, and older models like Pi 2/3B+. It runs on the 3.3V and 1.8V rails supplied through the CSI flat-flex cable. Pair it with any M12 lens with a matching thread pitch—widely available in focal lengths from 2.8mm to 25mm and beyond.

Wiring Notes

Connect the 15-pin ribbon cable from the camera’s CSI port to the Pi’s CAMERA slot, with the blue tab facing the Ethernet port or USB ports (check orientation for your Pi model). No external power is required; the camera draws up to 1.2W from the Pi. The included flex cable is shorter than standard Pi Camera cables—ensure your case allows a direct run, or use a longer 15-pin cable if needed.

Why Buy from Compoden

Every component is sourced from verified suppliers and tested for compatibility before listing. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. Ships from Bengaluru in 3-5 days. If defective on arrival, replace within 7 days.

Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi 5?

Yes, it works with Pi 5 using the same 15-pin CSI cable. Just ensure the cable is connected with the correct orientation.

Can I use C-mount or CS-mount lenses?

The camera has an M12 mount. To use C/CS lenses, you’ll need the official C/CS adapter ring (sold separately), which threads onto the M12 base.

What length ribbon cable is included?

It comes with a short 150mm 15‑pin flex cable. For enclosures that place the camera further away, longer cables (200mm, 300mm) are available.

📦 Free Setup Handoff Document Included
