Reverse-Polarity Protection Module (Series Schottky)

Use this to stop a reversed battery or a backfeeding solar panel from destroying the circuit behind it — a series diode that only lets current flow one way. Commonly used on solar inputs, field-wired supplies and student projects where the battery will eventually go on backwards. Not suitable where the voltage drop matters: a series Schottky loses roughly 0.3 to 0.5V, which at 5A is over 2 watts of heat and a visibly sagging rail. Key specs: up to 40V, 5A, series Schottky, one-way conduction. Alternative: the ideal-diode controller module, which does the same job with about 50mV of loss instead — worth the extra cost above a couple of amps.
