Voice Pitch Shifter Kit with Arduino Due
Build a Real-Time Voice Pitch Shifter with Arduino Due — Audio DSP in Your Hands
Every part needed, pre-tested for compatibility, with an AI build companion trained on this exact project. Shipped from Bengaluru in 3-5 days.
Transform your voice in real time — from deep robot to high-pitched chipmunk — with this hands-on Arduino Due audio kit. You'll wire a MAX4466 microphone, process audio via the Due's 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3, and output shifted sound through a PAM8403 amplifier and speaker. Perfect for learning digital signal processing fundamentals, building voice changers for cosplay or pranks, or adding an interactive element to school projects.
What You'll Build
A standalone pitch-shifter box that takes live voice input, alters pitch continuously using a potentiometer knob, and drives a 3W speaker. The core runs a real-time audio processing algorithm on Arduino Due, demonstrating sample-rate manipulation. You'll have a working prototype that can be enclosed and powered by a 9V battery, ready to demo for your science fair or engineering lab.
What You'll Learn
- Real-time audio sampling and playback using Arduino's I2S peripherals and audio library
- Digital pitch shifting by interpolating and resampling an audio buffer
- Circuit integration: connecting a microphone amplifier, audio amplifier, and speaker to Arduino Due
- Calibrating gain and filtering noise from an analog signal path

Who This Kit Is For
This intermediate kit is designed for students who have basic Arduino experience and want to explore real-time signal processing. Ideal for CBSE Class 11-12 students tackling electronics projects, B.Tech ECE/EEE undergraduates needing a quick prototyping platform for DSP labs, or teams participating in the Smart India Hackathon focusing on audio/voice solutions. Makers from ATL Tinkering Labs and engineering colleges across India (IIT, NIT, VIT, BITS) will find the included AI companion invaluable for debugging their real-time audio pipeline.
Built and Backed by Compoden
Every Compoden kit ships with an AI build companion trained on this exact project — accessible via a QR code on the box, with WhatsApp and email backup. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. If a part fails because of a manufacturing defect, replace it free within 7 days.
What if I get stuck during the build?
Scan the QR code included in the box to access your AI companion, which knows every step and common pitfalls. You can also connect with us over WhatsApp for additional help.
Is the pitch shifting clean and noise-free?
The included audio library handles interpolation to reduce artifacts, but the final clarity depends on careful wiring and the 100nF bypass caps near the mic and amp ICs. The AI companion will guide you through noise-reduction tweaks and supply filtering to get the cleanest possible output.
Can I record the shifted voice to an SD card?
The base kit does not include an SD card module, but the Arduino Due has enough I/O and processing headroom to add one later. Your AI companion can provide wiring diagrams and code snippets for that extension if you decide to upgrade.
What is the pitch range — how extreme can the shift be?
With the 10kΩ potentiometer, you continuously adjust from approximately half-speed (deep) to double-speed (high). By modifying the software buffer size, you can push the range further; the AI companion explains exactly which constants to change.
