MAX17048 Battery Fuel Gauge Breakout
Open this project in the Soldr app → What is Soldr.ai → wiring, code and test steps for exactly these parts
Use this to show a battery percentage that is actually meaningful — it models the cell's discharge curve rather than mapping raw voltage, which is why a naive voltage divider reads 80% for hours and then falls off a cliff. Commonly used for portable devices, wearables and anything with a battery indicator. Not suitable when you need measured charge in and out: this is a fuel gauge, not a coulomb counter, so it estimates state of charge from voltage behaviour and will not tell you how many milliamp-hours actually flowed. Key specs: I2C, single cell, 2.5-4.35V, state-of-charge estimation. Alternative: an INA226 when you need to integrate real current over time.
Ask Soldr above what you can build with this — it knows every Compoden kit this part appears in.
