Use this to trickle-charge a single lithium cell from a small solar panel in the cheapest way that is still safe. Commonly used on single-cell solar nodes, small outdoor sensors and long-deployment loggers. Not suitable if you need MPPT — this is a regulated linear charger, so on a partly shaded or mismatched panel it will harvest noticeably less than the CN3791 does. Key specs: 1 cell, 4.2V charge target, up to 500mA, linear. Alternative: the CN3791 MPPT module when the panel is large enough that harvest efficiency pays for the difference.
