HX711 Load Cell Amplifier Module
HX711 Load Cell Amplifier Module
The HX711 is a precision 24-bit ADC designed for weigh-scale applications, used to interface a load cell (strain gauge bridge) with a microcontroller. It amplifies the load cell's tiny millivolt-level signal and converts it to a digital reading over a simple 2-wire (clock/data) interface. Pair it with any of our load cells (1kg to 50kg) to build a digital scale.
Specifications
- Resolution: 24-bit ADC
- Interface: 2-wire (SCK clock, DT data), bit-banged -- no SPI/I2C address conflicts
- Operating voltage: 2.6V-5.5V (works with both 3.3V and 5V hosts)
- Gain: 128 or 64 (Channel A), 32 (Channel B)
- Sample rate: 10Hz or 80Hz selectable
Wiring
Connect the load cell's 4 wires (E+, E-, A+, A-) to the HX711's screw terminals, then SCK/DT to any 2 digital GPIO pins on your microcontroller. Works with the standard HX711 Arduino library (bogde/HX711) out of the box.
Choosing a load cell
Pick the load cell capacity to match your maximum expected weight, not your typical weight -- overloading a load cell permanently damages its calibration. We stock 1kg, 5kg, 10kg, 20kg, and 50kg load cells.
