Multi-Room Temperature System Kit with Arduino Mega
Monitor Every Room’s Temperature with the Arduino Mega Multi-Room System Kit
Every part needed, pre-tested for compatibility, with an AI build companion trained on this exact project. Shipped from Bengaluru in 3-5 days.
Imagine glancing at a compact screen that shows you exactly which room in your home is warmest or coolest, updated in real time. With four DS18B20 sensors communicating on a single wire, this kit transforms an Arduino Mega into a smart home temperature dashboard. During Indian summers or winters, knowing where to focus cooling or heating becomes instantly actionable.
What You'll Build
You’ll assemble a functional multi-room temperature logger that reads four DS18B20 probes on a one-wire bus, displays all readings on a 1.8-inch TFT screen, and labels the warmest and coolest rooms. The DS3231 real-time clock stamps each reading, and the microSD module logs data for trend analysis. Once built, you can deploy it in your living room, bedrooms, or even a mini cold storage to track conditions over hours or days.
What You'll Learn
Master the skills that turn a pile of components into a reliable home monitoring tool.
- Connect multiple DS18B20 sensors on a single digital pin using the One-Wire protocol
- Drive a 1.8-inch ST7735 TFT display with clear, labeled graphics
- Capture and store temperature data with a DS3231 real-time clock on microSD
- Identify and highlight the highest and lowest temperature values in code

Who This Kit Is For
This kit is ideal for CBSE Class 11-12 students diving into IoT and sensor-based projects, B.Tech ECE/EEE learners tackling home automation or embedded systems labs, and Smart India Hackathon teams prototyping energy-efficient home solutions. ATL Tinkering Labs will find it a ready-to-run one-wire communication demo with a real-world output, while makers and hobbyists get a reliable foundation for a smart home monitoring panel.
Built and Backed by Compoden
Every Compoden kit ships with an AI build companion trained on this exact project — accessible via a QR code on the box, with WhatsApp and email backup. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. If a part fails because of a manufacturing defect, replace it free within 7 days.
What if I get stuck during the build?
The included QR code connects you to an AI companion trained on this exact kit—it knows every connection, line of code, and common trouble spots. If you prefer human guidance, WhatsApp us directly and our engineers will reply with specific troubleshooting steps, normally within a few hours.
Can I add more temperature sensors to this system?
Yes, the one-wire bus can support many DS18B20 sensors. To add more, simply wire them in parallel with the same 4.7kΩ pull-up, and extend the code to read and display the new addresses. Note that the TFT screen’s layout will need adjustment to fit extra readings cleanly.
Will this kit work with a standard 9V battery for long-term monitoring?
The included battery snap is ideal for initial testing and portable demos, but the TFT display and logging module draw more current than a 9V battery can sustain for long. For continuous room monitoring over days, we recommend a USB power adapter (not included) or a 12V DC supply through the Mega’s barrel jack.
Does the microSD module come with a card?
The module is in the box; you’ll need to supply your own microSD card (any 2GB–32GB card formatted in FAT32 works perfectly). The AI companion walks you through the formatting and file creation steps so the data logger starts saving temperature snapshots right away.
Four DS18B20 on one-wire bus show all room temperatures on TFT labelled warmest and coolest.
