Ceiling Mount PIR Motion Sensor 110V-240V AC 200W
Human Infrared Ceiling Mount PIR Motion Sensor 110V - 240V AC 200W
This ceiling-mount passive infrared sensor detects human body heat to automatically switch lights or small appliances on and off. It operates on 110–240V AC and handles loads up to 200W, making it ideal for automatic lighting in hallways, bathrooms, and staircases. With a 360° detection pattern and adjustable time/lux settings, it offers hands-free convenience and energy savings.

What You Can Build With This
- Automatic corridor or hallway lighting that turns on when someone walks by
- Staircase illumination that activates only when occupied
- Energy‑saving room occupancy control for bathrooms or store rooms
- Motion‑triggered security light for entryways or garages
Compatibility
The sensor directly switches common lighting types—incandescent, LED, CFL—and small loads like exhaust fans, as long as the total power does not exceed 200W (resistive) or 100W (LED/CFL). It works with any 110–240V AC mains supply and can be paired with an external relay module if higher loads need to be controlled. It is not a low‑voltage sensor, so it does not interface directly with 3.3V/5V logic boards.
Wiring Notes
Connect the live (brown) wire to the “L” terminal, neutral (blue) to “N”, and the load (light) between the output terminal and neutral. Always isolate the mains before wiring. Install the sensor on a ceiling at 2.5–4 metres height for optimal 360° coverage, and adjust the time and lux trimpots with a small screwdriver after testing.
Why Buy from Compoden
Every component is sourced from verified suppliers and tested for compatibility before listing. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. Ships from Bengaluru in 3-5 days. If defective on arrival, replace within 7 days.
Is this compatible with a 220V Indian mains supply?
Yes, it accepts any voltage from 110V to 240V AC, so Indian 220V–240V mains is perfectly fine.
Can I connect this directly to an Arduino or Raspberry Pi?
No. This sensor outputs a live AC switching signal, not a logic-level signal. To interface with a microcontroller, you would need to use the sensor’s output to drive a relay and sense the relay state separately, or choose a low‑voltage PIR sensor module instead.
What is the maximum switching load really? I see 200W, can I use a 200W LED bulb?
The 200W rating is for resistive loads (incandescent). LED and CFL bulbs have higher inrush currents; the derated limit is 100W. Exceeding it may damage the internal relay or cause flickering.
