Inductive Proximity Sensor PNP NO 8mm Sensing - CEYONE
CEYONE Inductive Proximity Sensor PNP NO – 8mm Sensing Distance
The CEYONE inductive proximity sensor is a PNP normally-open (NO) switch designed for non-contact detection of metallic objects. With an 8mm sensing range, it is commonly used in industrial automation, robotics, and DIY electronic projects. Its robust design and reliable output make it suitable for environments where dust, oil, or moisture may interfere with optical sensors.

What You Can Build With This
- Automated part counter on a conveyor belt
- Industrial limit switch for CNC machines
- DIY metal detector alarm system
- Robot collision avoidance sensor
Compatibility
This PNP sensor works with most industrial controllers, PLCs, and microcontrollers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32. It requires a 10–30V DC power supply and can directly drive small relays or digital inputs. For 3.3V or 5V logic, use a voltage divider or optocoupler to match the output signal.
Wiring Notes
Brown wire: +V (10–30V DC), Blue wire: GND, Black wire: Output (PNP NO). When metal is detected, the black wire connects to +V. Use a pull-down resistor on the output line if interfacing with sensitive logic. Ensure supply voltage matches the sensor's rating to avoid damage.
Why Buy from Compoden
Every component is sourced from verified suppliers and tested for compatibility before listing. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. Ships from Bengaluru in 3-5 days. If defective on arrival, replace within 7 days.
Is this compatible with Arduino?
Yes, but you'll need a voltage divider or level shifter since the PNP output is high-side (connects to V+). With a 10–30V supply, the output will be at that voltage when triggered, so a resistor divider to drop it to 5V is recommended.
Can it detect non-ferrous metals?
Yes, inductive sensors detect any metal, but the sensing range may be reduced for non-ferrous metals like aluminum or copper. Expect around 4mm for non-ferrous targets.
What's the difference between PNP and NPN?
PNP sensors switch the positive voltage to the output (sourcing output), while NPN sensors switch to ground (sinking). This PNP NO sensor outputs a positive signal when metal is detected.
