Will this scanner detect every Bluetooth device around me?
It detects any device sending BLE advertising packets, such as fitness bands, key finders, smartphones (with BLE apps running), and dedicated beacons. Classic Bluetooth audio devices usually require a different approach and are not shown.
Do I need to solder anything?

Can I see the device names in clear text?
If the device includes its name in the BLE advertising packet, the OLED displays it. Otherwise, you’ll see the MAC address and RSSI, which still tells you a lot about proximity and transmission behaviour.
