TTP224 4-Channel Capacitive Touch Sensor Module

The TTP224 is a 4-channel capacitive touch sensor module based on the TTP224 IC. It detects touch through any non-conductive material (glass, acrylic) up to 5mm thickness. The module outputs a digital high signal when a pad is touched, with configurable modes (momentary or toggle). Ideal for adding touch controls to microcontroller projects.

Key Specifications

Specification Value
IC TTP224
Channels 4 independent touch inputs
Operating Voltage 2.4V – 5.5V DC
Output Type Digital (Active High), configurable as momentary or toggle
Response Time ~60ms in low power, ~100ms in fast mode
Standby Current <2μA at 3V

What You Can Build With This

  • Touch-sensitive lamp or light switch
  • 4-key capacitive keypad for password entry
  • Touch-controlled music player interface
  • Interactive art installation with proximity/touch triggers

Compatibility

The module works with any 3.3V or 5V microcontroller, including Arduino Uno, Nano, Mega, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico, and STM32. It communicates via simple digital pins—no library needed. Just connect VCC, GND, and the output pins to your MCU's GPIOs. Internal pull-up resistors are not required as outputs are active high.

Wiring Notes

Connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V, GND to ground. Each of the 4 output pins (OUT1–OUT4) goes to a digital input pin on your microcontroller. The module has onboard jumpers to set output mode (momentary or toggle) per channel. Ensure the touch pads are not covered by conductive material during operation.

Why Buy from Compoden

Every component is sourced from verified suppliers and tested for compatibility before listing. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. Ships from Bengaluru in 3-5 days. If defective on arrival, replace within 7 days.

Is this compatible with Arduino Uno?

Yes, the TTP224 module runs on 5V logic and can be directly connected to Arduino Uno's digital pins. No level shifting needed.

Can I use it with a 3.3V ESP32?

Yes, the module operates from 2.4V to 5.5V, so 3.3V logic is fine. Connect VCC to 3.3V on the ESP32 and the outputs will be 3.3V when active, safe for ESP32 pins.

How do I set it to toggle mode?

Each channel has a jumper pad on the board. Short the jumper for the channel you want in toggle mode (output changes state on each touch); leave open for momentary (active only while touched).

📦 Free Setup Handoff Document Included

Every Compoden order includes a free setup handoff document — step-by-step instructions to get your component working within minutes. Download it via QR code on your package. The handoff document is also trained to help you troubleshoot the majority of problems.
