Use this as the general-purpose workhorse when you need more than 3A and an adjustable output — it is the module most builds reach for once a servo group or a Pi is on the rail. Commonly used for motor rigs, 12V-to-5V conversion at real current and multi-servo robots. Not suitable above 5A continuous without forced airflow, and not suitable for fine low-current work where its quiescent draw matters. Key specs: 8-36V in, 1.25-32V adjustable out, 5A continuous. Alternative: the LM2596 3A module for lighter loads, or the 300W 20A module if 5A is not enough.
