Force Directed Graph Visualiser Kit — Arduino Mega Hub with 8 NRF24 Nodes Plots Live Network Graph on TFT

Every part needed, pre-tested for compatibility, with an AI build companion trained on this exact project. Shipped from Bengaluru in 3-5 days.

Difficulty: Advanced Build Time: 5-6 hrs Age: 18-21 Skill: Wireless sensor network design and force-directed graph visualization

Visualize the invisible. This advanced kit lets you construct a 9-node wireless network — 8 remote sensors and a central plotting hub — that draws a live, force-directed graph on a TFT display. As the NRF24 sensor nodes move or change connectivity, the graph re-balances in real time, revealing the network’s structure. Ideal for final-year engineering projects, research prototypes, and Smart India Hackathon challenges in IoT networking.

What You'll Build

A fully functional wireless sensor network with eight battery-powered nodes transmitting to a central Arduino Mega hub. The hub receives data over NRF24L01 and runs a force-directed layout algorithm to position each node on the 1.8-inch TFT screen, creating a dynamic, self-organizing map of the network. You’ll see node connections appear as edges, and the graph continuously updates as nodes come in and out of range.

What You'll Learn

  • Implementing reliable multi-node NRF24L01 communication with ACK and retry mechanisms
  • Designing power-efficient sensor nodes with Arduino Nano and capacitor stabilization
  • Coding real-time force-directed graph algorithms (Fruchterman-Reingold) on constrained hardware
  • Interfacing SPI TFT displays and rendering custom UI widgets

B.Tech ECE/EEE final-year students working on wireless network projects, participants in Smart India Hackathon tackling IoT challenges, and research scholars at IITs, NITs, VIT, or BITS Pilani who need a ready-to-deploy mesh demonstration. Also suits hobbyists with intermediate electronics skills ready to advance into multi-node systems and data visualization.

Built and Backed by Compoden

Every Compoden kit ships with an AI build companion trained on this exact project — accessible via a QR code on the box, with WhatsApp and email backup. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. If a part fails because of a manufacturing defect, replace it free within 7 days.

What if I get stuck during the build?

The AI companion walks you through wiring, code uploads, and troubleshooting. If needed, our WhatsApp support team responds within hours with targeted advice for your specific issue.

Can I visualize sensor data other than connectivity?

Absolutely. The example sketches transmit RSSI for network edges, but you can reprogram nodes to send temperature, light, or any analog reading. The force-directed graph can then encode that data as node size, colour, or position offset.

How scalable is this — can I add more than eight sensor nodes?

The NRF24L01 supports 6 data pipes per module. With address multiplexing, you can add more nodes, but the included code and PCB layouts are optimized for eight. Adding more will require software modifications and additional hardware.

Is the force-directed graph computed on the Arduino Mega?

Yes. The Mega runs a real-time physics simulation (spring‑like attraction and repulsion) on each received packet, updating node positions and redrawing the TFT. The algorithm is written in efficient C++ to maintain smooth animation at 1–2 seconds per iteration.
