35mm Piezoelectric Sensor/Transducer/Buzzer - Vibrating Disc for Projects
35mm Piezoelectric Disc ā Sounder & Vibration Sensor for DIY Projects
This 35mm piezoelectric disc works as both a sounder (buzzer) and a vibration sensor. When driven with an AC signal, it produces clear tones for alarms or musical notes. In reverse, it generates a voltage when tapped, making it useful for knock sensors or contact mics. A versatile component for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and general electronics prototyping.

What You Can Build With This
- Arduino tone generator with simple PWM output
- Knock sensor for security systems or interactive projects
- Contact microphone to capture acoustic vibrations
- Electronic doorbell or alarm buzzer circuit
Compatibility
Works directly with 5V microcontrollers like Arduino Uno, Nano, and Mega. For louder output, pair with a transistor driver circuit from a 3.3V board like ESP32 or Raspberry Pi Pico. The disc can also interface with Raspberry Pi via a simple ADC for vibration sensing.
Wiring Notes
For sound output, connect the ceramic side to a PWM-capable pin through a 1kΩ resistor, and the brass disc to ground. A protective diode is not needed for low-voltage driving. When using as a sensor, wire in parallel with a 1MΩ resistor to bleed off charge.
Why Buy from Compoden
Every component is sourced from verified suppliers and tested for compatibility before listing. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. Ships from Bengaluru in 3-5 days. If defective on arrival, replace within 7 days.
Is this compatible with Arduino?
Yes, connect to any PWM pin with a resistor for buzzer functions, or use as an analog input with a pull-down resistor for knock sensing.
Can I use this as a microphone?
It can act as a contact microphone; attach to a surface to detect vibrations, but output voltage is low and needs an amplifier for audio recording.
How loud is this buzzer?
When driven at resonance with a full 5V square wave, it produces around 80 dB at 10 cm ā comparable to a standard sounder but without a built-in oscillator.
