Wireless Energy Monitoring Nodes Kit with ESP32
Wireless Energy Monitoring Kit with ESP32 – Live 3-Node Energy Dashboard
Every part needed, pre-tested for compatibility, with an AI build companion trained on this exact project. Shipped from Bengaluru in 3-5 days.
Turn three separate circuits into a wirelessly networked energy monitoring system. Each node uses an INA219 sensor and ESP32 to measure voltage, current, and power at the load, then broadcasts readings to a central ESP8266 hub over ESP-NOW. The hub serves a local web page with live graphs—no cloud, no internet required. This kit makes it practical to understand multi-point power profiling, whether for a school physics lab, a college hostel’s energy audit, or a Smart India Hackathon prototype.
What You'll Build
A sensor network that captures real-time electrical data from up to three independent DC circuits. The ESP8266 hub collects all data packages and runs a lightweight web server, so you open any browser on the same Wi-Fi network and see instant updates on voltage, current draw, and power consumption across nodes—ready to log or analyse further.
What You'll Learn
- Configure ESP-NOW peer-to-peer wireless communication between ESP32s and an ESP8266 hub
- Interface INA219 current/voltage sensors over I2C and use a TCA9548A multiplexer to manage multiple identical addresses
- Build a local web server with ESP8266 that serves live sensor data without internet dependence
- Create responsive real-time dashboards with HTML and JavaScript running directly from the microcontroller

Who This Kit Is For
Designed for CBSE Class 11-12 students tackling physics or computer science investigatory projects, and B.Tech ECE/EEE undergraduates prototyping for Smart India Hackathon, IIT tech fests, or ATL Tinkering Lab challenges. It also fits hobbyists building non-invasive energy monitors for home DC loads, battery banks, or solar setups.
Built and Backed by Compoden
Every Compoden kit ships with an AI build companion trained on this exact project — accessible via a QR code on the box, with WhatsApp and email backup. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. If a part fails because of a manufacturing defect, replace it free within 7 days.
What if I get stuck during the build?
Open the AI companion through the QR code on the box, describe your issue, and it will guide you with steps specific to this kit. You can also reach us on WhatsApp for human backup.
Can I use this kit to measure AC mains voltage?
No, the INA219 sensors measure low-side DC voltage up to 26V. For AC mains, you would need external current transformers and voltage dividers rated for high voltage, which are not included.
Do I need an internet connection to view the dashboard?
No internet is required. The ESP8266 hub creates its own Wi-Fi network or joins your local network, then serves a web page directly. Any device on the same network can access the dashboard.
Can I expand the system to more than three monitoring nodes?
The included firmware handles three nodes, but the I2C multiplexer addresses can be reconfigured, and the ESP-NOW code can be modified to accept additional message IDs. With some custom coding you can scale further.
Three INA219 nodes on circuits transmit to ESP8266 hub via ESP-NOW. Live dashboard on local web page.
