XY-MD02 SHT20 Temperature & Humidity Sensor Module – Modbus RTU

The XY-MD02 is a precision temperature and humidity sensor module using the SHT20 sensor chip, communicating via Modbus RTU over RS485. It provides accurate environmental data for industrial automation, greenhouses, and weather monitoring. With a wide voltage range and robust protocol, it integrates easily with PLCs and microcontrollers.

What You Can Build With This

Compatibility

The module works with any device supporting Modbus RTU over RS485, such as Arduino with MAX485 converter, ESP32 with RS485 transceiver, industrial PLCs, and Raspberry Pi with USB-RS485 adapter. It operates at 3.3V to 5.5V logic levels.

Wiring Notes

Connect A (non-inverting) and B (inverting) to your RS485 bus, and power with 3.3–5.5V DC. For long cable runs, use 120Ω termination resistors at both ends of the line.

Why Buy from Compoden

Every component is sourced from verified suppliers and tested for compatibility before listing. We've spent 10 years building projects for makers, schools, and institutions across India. Ships from Bengaluru in 3-5 days. If defective on arrival, replace within 7 days.

Is this compatible with Arduino?

Yes, you can interface it with Arduino using an RS485 transceiver module like MAX485. Wire RO, DI, RE, DE pins appropriately and use a Modbus library.

Can I use this with 5V systems?

The module accepts 3.3V to 5.5V power, so it works directly with 5V systems without level shifting.

What is the default Modbus address?

The default Modbus slave address is usually 1, but you can modify it via Modbus commands using the configuration register.

📦 Free Setup Handoff Document Included

Every Compoden order includes a free setup handoff document — step-by-step instructions to get your component working within minutes. Download it via QR code on your package. The handoff document is also trained to help you troubleshoot the majority of problems.
