What range can I expect from the LoRa module?

In open air with line-of-sight, the RA-02 reliably transmits over 2-3 km using the included 433 MHz antenna. In urban environments with obstacles, expect 500-800 meters. The AI companion will guide you to optimize antenna placement.

Do I need a second LoRa module to receive the data?

Yes, this kit sends weather data from the sensor node. You'll need a separate LoRa receiver (another RA-02 or development board with LoRa) to capture and display the data. The AI companion includes wiring and code for receiver setup.

Can I permanently deploy this weather station outdoors?

The foam enclosure provides basic protection, but for permanent outdoor use, we recommend sealing the electronics in a weatherproof box (not included) and adding a solar charging panel. The 1000mAh LiPo battery lasts approximately 8-10 hours with continuous transmission; the TP4056 allows safe recharging.
